Sweet success in a gem of a location in Kingston

Deal done ! Brecker Grossmith has secured a prime corner retail pitch at 8 Clarence Street opposite the Bentall Centre in Kingston Upon Thames for Appletree Gifts, a gift and American style candy store.

Phil Richards negotiated an underlease from Juweller Ernest Jones who have occupied a prominent retail position on Clarence Street since 2014.

The  2,922 sq. ft property comprises accommodation on ground, first and second floors and nearby occupiers include Office, Foot Asylum, Fat Face and  The White Stuff.

Kingston Nub News reports “With its vivid pink exterior and colourful sweet-lined shelves the store, called the ‘American Candy Shop,’ is hard to miss.  The shop opened (25 August) and when Nub News visited it was packed with customers queuing up for their favourite US brand. These include Reese’s, Wonka bars, Nerds, Twinkies and Takis, in different varieties and flavours. Even Campbell’s American Soup makes an appearance. ”

The owners are aiming to revive Kington’s town centre which has seen many stores closing during the pandemic and say they will also offer vegan and zero-sugar sweets.

We are delighted to be assisting Apple Tree Gifts as they now turn their sights on acquiring further stores in Liverpool and Cambridge.
