Deal done ! Brecker Grossmith is delighted to announce we assisted contemporary art gallerist Taymour Grahne to secure a new space at 1 Lonsdale Road, Notting Hill, London W11 following an extensive search. Oliver Muers-Raby at Orme Property represented the landlord.
The 941 sq ft property occupies a prominent position on Lonsdale Road in the heart of Notting Hill just north of the crossroads with Westbourne Grove and Ledbury Road and was previously let to men’s clothing brand Frescobol Carioca. It will be Taymour’s second London gallery; he opened his first London space at 10 Portland Road in Holland Park last year.
Between 2013 and 2017, Taymour Grahne founded and directed Taymour Grahne Gallery in New York, where he presented an ambitious and rigorous exhibition programme. He built a profile for exhibiting key emerging and mid-career contemporary artists including Maia Cruz Palileo, Hassan Hajjaj, Nicky Nodjoumi, Whitney Bedford, Zineb Sedira, and Radames Juni Figueroa, among others. He won plaudits for often being the first gallerist to exhibit these artists in New York City.
Returning to London in 2017 to focus on a nomadic exhibition programme, Taymour launched a series of pop-up solo shows by leading emerging artists including GaHee Park, Dominique Fung, Matthew F Fisher, and Nadia Ayari.
Taymour will launch the Notting Hill gallery with a solo show by London-based artist Evie O’Connor on 15th May and we wish both artist and gallerist every success.
The gallery plans to host art world talks and conversations, screenings, and art book signings. If you want to know more, drop a line to Taylor Grahne Projects at firstname.lastname@example.org
