RE: BRECKER GROSSMITH – COVID-19 (CORONA VIRUS) UPDATE
The outbreak of Covid-19 (Corona Virus) has created a totally unprecedented and complex set of circumstances.
Many of you will want to know landlord position on rent. We are talking to our own clients and other landlords and colleagues in the industry. At present, landlords we report to are unable to authorise blanket rent stop or fixed reduction. They wish to look at matters on a case by case basis. This may inevitably change and we are also waiting on formal Government guidance to businesses in this regard.
At Brecker Grossmith, we are in the same situation as everyone and have to rapidly adjust to a “new normal” We are taking all necessary steps to ensure we can continue to work as closely as possible to “business as normal” conditions. Aschartered surveyors and an employer, Brecker Grossmith has a duty of care to our staff, clients, tenants and members of the public. We are reviewing our working practices to ensure we can continue to provide a professional and consistent level of service.
In line with Government recommendations our staff are now working from home and we would be grateful for your patience if we are unable to respond to calls immediately. We are also adhering to Government best practice guidelines set out by the NHS and Public Health England. Rest assured we will endeavour to return all calls as soon as practically possible.
— We would ask that all but essential visits to our office are kept to an absolute minimum until further notice.
— Meetings are being conducted by staff via telephone conference calls and we are also looking at video conferencing. You will appreciate however that many of us will be experiencing some issues with our service providers during periods of unprecedented demand so again your understanding is appreciated.
— We are encouraging our staff not to attend face to face meetings and to adhere to the need for increased hygiene measures.
— We are encouraging all our clients, tenants and contractors to contact us via e-mail, phone and through social media.We appreciate that everyone is enduring an extremely challenging and un-normal set of events at present and we will do all we can to communicate with you on a regular basis to ensure updates on your properties / transactions/ projects are sent to you as often as possible.
